Kebbie's Diaper Bag - Bubbz Review, Coupon Code AND Giveaway! - CLOSED

We are nearing the end of our pocket diaper days, and I am going out with a BANG!  I think I have found the best pocket diapers for our kids.  Kebbie's Diaper Bag carries a line of diapers called Bubbz diapers.  They are an amazing line of diapers that, in my opinion, have everything that the perfect pocket diaper need.  They have a high quality double gusset; not just cheap sewn in elastic, but really well constructed gussets.  They have durable and high quality microfleece for the inner; super soft and doesn't get too pilly.  They also use TPU which is more environmentally friendly than it's PUL counterpart.  The elastic is also very high quality; super stretchy, firm, yet doesn't leave red marks!  And to top it all off....not only are they are very affordable, but they have the cutest prints too!!

So, now that I have told you about how amazing this line of diapers is, I am very excited to tell you about the upgrades that have been made from the Bubbz 2.0 to make the new Bubbz 3.0!

Glow Bug Cloth Diaper Review AND Giveaway!! - CLOSED

My cloth diaper addiction over the last 2 years has primarily circulated around pocket style cloth diapers.  I thought I had seen every style of pocket diaper that could be made.  Then I came across Glow Bug Cloth Diapers!  Even though they look a lot like many of the other pocket diaper brands out there, they have some very subtle and, in my opinion, ingenious differences.

SmartiPants Review and Giveaway!! - CLOSED

I am so smart...S.M.R.T.  Oh, wait.  I am so excited to round out the first full week of school by doing a week of reviews.  While "hitting the books" again, I had the opportunity to review a really amazing company.  Smartipants!  I thought it was quite appropriate.

We had so much fun with these little pocket diapers.  I do use the term 'pocket diaper' loosely when it comes to Smartipants because the inside is more of a sleeve than a pocket.  In fact, they actually call it a Smart Sleeve.  This is great because there is nowhere for the insert to go but out when in the wash, so you really never have to touch the soiled insert or have a bunched up insert inside the diaper after a wash.  The front and back are completely open; the only stitching is along the sides of the sleeve.  This makes it very fast and easy to put the insert back in.  I love the convenience of it.

The fit of Smartipants is amazing!  They are not bulky or saggy.  The elastic is very forgiving and gentle.  It never leaves a red mark.  They also holds in so much!  I found that we can use the Smartipants twice as long as our other pocket brands with no leaks (about 4 hours).  I also love that there is still plenty of room for Little Man to grow into them, but they are also going to be a great fit on Peanut too (which I'll talk about when we get a chance to use them!)  Little Man still has two more snaps to go on the waist and hip.  This means that we'll actually be able to use them from birth to potty training!

If you are interested in trying out a pocket diaper style or if you're like me and addicted to pockets, I would strongly urge you to try out Smartipants.  They are everything that I love about pocket diapers plus some really amazing features that set them apart from the others.  Little Man definitely loves his Smartipants!

Pocket Diapers Part 2

I started sharing about Pocket Diapers last Wednesday.  I want to expand on that post a little and talk to you about the kinds of Pocket Diapers that I'm curious about.  Being a cloth diaper addict, I have spent a tremendous amount of time researching cloth diapers.  I have tried different styles, but the OneSize Pocket diapers have been my favorite.  Even though each brand of pocket diaper is different, I love each one of them that I've tried.  So, I wonder if I would be just as happy with other brands or styles of pocket diapers.

We have never tried a sized pocket diaper before, but have been curious as to if we would enjoy them just as much as their one size counterparts.  We don't mind the bulk that comes from one sizes on little ones because the bonus is that we don't have to buy another set as they get bigger!  There have been times, though, that I've wished we had a trimmer fit to fit under some of my favorite outfits that were getting out grown.

These are the brands that we've tried:  FuzziBunz OneSize, DinkleDooz, Oh Katy, GoGreen, and Rumparooz OneSize.

Here is the list of Pocket Diaper brands that I've wanted to try and why I find them intriguing.  Since there are so many different manufacturers of pocket diapers and so many WAHMs out there; I would love for you all to share if I am missing one from my list!

TotsBots - I love the cute prints and the different styles.
Happy Heinies - I love the many different colors and prints to choose from.  They also have many different options and styles too.
CutiePoops - A WAHM diaper maker.  Her styles are so cute and she has so many different options for custom orders.  I also love her ingenuity when it comes to colors, prints and fabric choices.  I also love her ruffle bums for girls.
Jazzy Dans - A WAHM diaper maker.  They have an Etsy store and their prints are super cute, plus there are a ton of options for boys!
Kninkernappies - I love the idea of a side snapping diaper.  I've also heard many good things about this company.
AMP diapers - I have heard people who use these just rave about them.  I like that they have 4 row adjustable on their one size diapers.
Apple Cheeks - I like their envelope cover.  It looks different than regular pocket diapers and I'm curious to know how well they work.
AngeePants - A WAHM diaper maker.  I love the cute prints and the use of color on the inside.
Lovely Pocket Diapers - I love the prints, the choices of styles and the price!
Heartland Dreams - A WAHM diaper maker.  They use such cute prints and combinations of fabrics.
Wahmies - I like their quick hooks instead of snaps and aplix.
Mo Dia - A WAHM diaper maker.  I like their custom designs.
Rocky Mountain Diapers - A WAHM diaper maker.  I like the use of gender neutral colors and the use of color on the inside too.
Dry Bees - A WAHM diaper maker.  I just love the styles....who can resist a ruffle bottom on a little girl?!
Bumcessories - A WAHM diaper maker.  This is actually someone that I grew up with (small world, huh?!) and I love her styles and her huge assortment of fabrics and prints.
Mud Butt - A WAHM diaper maker.  I love her use of colored snaps and her prints too.
Mini Maestro - I just heard about these diapers and I am so curious to learn more!
Thirsties - I like their huge selection of styles.  I also love that they are Made in the USA!!
Mothers-Ease - I like their use of all organic 100% cotton.  They have many styles to choose from too.
Teene Comforts - A WAHM diaper maker.  I love the prints and the simplistic style!
SmartiPants - I like the colors (especially Black...it's unusual to see black) and I like the simplicity of their design.
Rumpsack - A WAHM diaper maker.  I like the prints and fabrics that she uses.

Summer Cloth Diaper Celebration Week 1 - Pocket Diapers

I decided to use the month of July to talk about the cloth diapering products that I love and use everyday.  So, I wanted to talk about the type of diapers that I love the most.  We have used covers and prefolds, AI2, AIO and Hybrid diapers.  We keep going back to our favorites, the One Size Pocket diapers.

Pocket diapers are a shell of PUL or other laminate fabric with an inside of microfiber, suede cloth, rayon, hemp or organic cotton (depending on the brand you use).  They are stitched together with an opening left in the back, front or both (again, depending on brand).  They have elastic around the legs and back with closures that have snaps or aplix on the front or sides.  You use an insert of some kind; either a provided insert, a homemade insert or a prefold.  You put the insert inside the diaper between the outer shell and inside fabric through the opening.  Pocket diapers can come in sized to fit or one size styles.
Little Man at 24 days old in his OS FuzziBunz.
Our cloth diaper journey started with a stash of 24 FuzziBunz one size diapers.  I love the FuzziBunz and they still make up the majority of our stash for now.  We have now expanded to include a few OhKaty, Dinkledooz and GoGreen Pocket Diapers.  We love them each for their different qualities.

We loved the FuzziBunz when Little Man was smaller because we could fit them uniquely to his changing size so easy.  The FuzziBunz have adjustable elastic around each leg and the back.  The elastic adjusts just like kid's pants and jeans, with a button and a series of holes along the elastic.  This lends the FuzziBunz to a better fit for when they are growing.  The downside is that it takes time to readjust the elastic, so they aren't great for use with multiple babies that are different sizes because adjusting them back and forth gets time consuming.  We are going to have a certain color for each baby so we know which ones are sized for which baby.  Now we are finding that the FuzziBunz are getting harder to find that right fit for Little Man because he's gotten so big.  They are a smaller size fit on him compared to the other one size diapers that we use.  So I have a feeling that they will go exclusively to the next little one in a couple months.
Little Man in his OhKaty at 1 year.
The Oh Katy, DinkleDooz and GoGreen Pockets are all one size also.  They adjust for size by a series of snaps in the front.  We started adding these to our stash as Little Man was getting bigger, so we've only used them completely open.  I'm excited to see how they will work sized down for a smaller baby.  We love that the elastic is thinner and more stretchy than the FuzziBunz.  I also like the idea that they are so quick to adjust so you can use the same diaper on multiple kids of different sizes very easily.

The OneSize Pocket diapers fit into our lifestyle very well.  I love the snaps.  They are easy to use for everyone, so even family members change his pants with no worries or reservations.  They are easy to clean because you take the insert out.  This makes it easy to clean solids off, easy to launder and quick to dry.  They are easy to take everywhere and they are ready when I need them.  The task of re-stuffing the diapers is not that bad.  I do it while sitting down to watch TV.  I am excited to try out more brands of pocket diapers.  There are so many little variations that I don't think two brands pocket diapers are the same!  I'm also excited to share about my experience with my favorite type of diaper with all of you!

Go Green Pocket Diapers Review and Giveaway! - CLOSED!

Welcome to the start of OTTW's Summer Cloth Diaper Celebration!  I wanted to start it of with a Bang!  This week I want to talk about my favorite type of diapers....Pocket Diapers!  Most of us know and love GoGreen Pocket Diapers; I know I do.  I am so excited to take the opportunity to talk about them.  GoGreen is always coming up with something new and the latest has been their introduction of the Champ 2.0.  I want to take a moment to explain what changed between the original Champ and the new Champ 2.0.  I'll start, though, by giving a little info on GoGreen's original pocket diaper.

Little Man loves playtime in his regular GoGreen Pocket Diapers.  They are your standard pocket diaper.  They come with a microfiber insert.  The outside is PUL and comes in many cute solid colors, prints and fuzzy  choices.  The interior is a suede cloth.  Unlike your standard microfiber or microterry, this is very soft and doesn't pill.  Also, solids roll right off and hardly leave a mess to spray off.  I've also never had a problem with stains!  The back opening for the pocket has elastic on both the outer shell and the inner fabric.  This is great because there's no extra fabric that can sneak out the back and cause leaks.  This diaper has three levels of snaps to adjust for size in the front.  There is one row of snaps to adjust the waist and a row on each side for the hip snaps.  This diaper fits Little Man very well.  He is now 26 lbs and 31 inches.  They fit his chunky thighs too.  The rise is very nice and I can still snap it in three and four snaps in, so there is plenty of room to grow!

Now on to compare the original Champ and the improved Champ 2.0!

The Champ is the deluxe model of Pocket Diaper; it is no longer sold by GoGreen because it has been replaced by the improved Champ 2.0.   (The Crazy Evening print is the blue circle print with yellow snaps on the left.  It is the original Champ.  The Tripping 'Billy print is the orange with billy goats on the right.  It is the Champ 2.0.)

Both the Champ and Champ 2.0 are made with a PUL outer that come in a variety of cute colors and prints with a suedecloth inner; similar to the regular pocket diaper.  (Champ on the left, Champ 2.0 on the right.)

What makes the Champs different from the original pocket diaper is that they have a larger rise, more rows of snaps for size adjustment, two rows of snaps for waist adjustment, an opening in the back and front, a snap on the insert to keep it in place and to use as an AI2 if desired, and double leg gussets.

The Champ 2.0 has the same cover over the front opening as the Champ, but the Champ 2.0 also has a cover over the back opening too.  Personally, I like having the double elastic on the back opening, but I can see where the back cover can be useful and is probably more cost effective for the company.  (Champ on the left; Champ 2.0 on the right.)

The Champ had two rows of snaps for waist adjustment, but didn't have a hip snap.  The Champ 2.0 has the ever important hip snap.  This feature keeps the front sides of the diaper from sneaking up or down with movement.  I also like that the Champ 2.0 also has extra snaps that face the other way to make the waist able to be adjusted very small for newborns and small babies.  It also comes in handy when you forget your wetbag and need to secure the diaper shut so it doesn't make a mess in the diaper bag!

I loved the Champ pocket diaper, but there were a few things that I wanted to see changed.  I was so excited when I found out that they made those changes with the Champ 2.0!  I love the hip snap and the extra waist snaps that fasten to the outside.  The best part is that they didn't change their price!  The GoGreen diapers are still a very affordable diaper!  The quality of these diapers rivals the expensive 'brand name' cloth diapers, yet they are literally half the price!  The original GoGreen Pocket Diapers are sold for $9.99!!  The Champ 2.0 is sold for $14.95!!  They also have amazing and affordable accessories from extra microfiber inserts to wetbags (that retail for $6.99!!)  I am also excited for all you aplix lovers out there.  They are going to be introducing an aplix conversion called the Adapt-a-snap.  It makes your snap diapers into aplix diapers with no sewing!!

GoGreen has graciously offered a lucky reader the chance to get a Champ 2.0 of their own!
